Torsten Ratzkowski (1954) began his musicsl education for guitar at the Niedersächsische Musikschule Braunschweig, After that he attended the conservatory in Lübeck with Prof. A. Aigner teaching him, where archieved his state examin in 1980. Torsten Ratzkowski continued with studies in composition and theory of music in Lübeck, now with Prof. R. Ploeger teaching him. 1983 he archieved his degree in theory of music. Due to his composing activities he was often invited tolectures in Germany, Denmark and the USA. Since 1983 Torsten Ratzkowski is active as a lecturer for guitar and chamber music in his home country and in foreign countrys (the USA, India, Denmark), also reguarly. Since 1984 Torsten Ratzkowski gives concerts in the USA, Mexico, India, France, Sweden, Denmark and the Baltic States together with thr Danish guitarist Jan Thomsen, calling themselves Ratzkowski/Thomsen-Guitar-Duo, later Royal Guitars. Several invitations to concerts at residences in embassies in Germany and Denmark followed even at the Danish royal family.

  • since 1982 lead of the Lübecker Gitarrenorchester
  • 1988-1996 lead of the plucked string orchestra of the BDZ northern district  (Das Neue Orchester)
  • since 1984 guitar teacher at the district music school at  Bad Segeberg
    (guitar, electric guitar, bass, band training, lead of ensembles)
